The annual Armed Services Skeet Championships moves to Arizona this year, as Tucson Trap and Skeet Club does the honors as host May 14-18. Registration will open February 1.
The ASSC is open to all U.S. Active Duty, Reservists, and National Guard personnel, USCG, ROTC and Service Academy Cadets, retired military, honorably discharged veterans, NOAA and PHS personnel, dependents and spouses, and active foreign military personnel.
As is tradition, on the weekend prior to the Armed Services Shoot, May 11-13, the host club will hold the General Pletcher Open, a registered skeet event open to all NSSA members. Lt. General Kenneth E. Pletcher, USAF, was one of the key leaders who established the Armed Forces Skeet Association and was elected the first AFSA president, a position he held from 1975 to 1978.
NSSA military members should establish their military status with the NSSA so their membership card displays all concurrent classifications. If you have not yet done so, or if your status has changed, i.e., from Active Duty to Retired or Veteran, contact Michelle Lee, mlee@nssa-nsca.com, with your DD Form 214 or appropriate identification.
You can find registration forms for the ASSC and Pletcher Open on the Armed Forces Skeet Association’s new website at www.armedforcesskeet.com.
