Nominations Open for NSSA Board of Directors

March 26, 2026 By Sherry Kerr Leave a Comment

Nominations are now open through April 23 for members of the NSSA Board of Directors for the 2027-2028 term.

Each state, province, U.S. military service branch, and other regions with sufficient membership will elect at least one Director, with the number based on the number of members there as of December 31, 2025. Click here to see the number of Directors each state / province / territory is entitled to.

Candidates must be current, paid NSSA members; complimentary members and Crossfire shooters are not eligible. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age on January 1, 2027 to be eligible to serve. Members who wish to run for the position must submit a nomination form with the endorsement of their state association OR the signatures of five (5) paid NSSA members from the same state / province / territory / branch.

Military members (active duty, veteran, or retired) may run for and vote in either their state of residence or their branch of service, but not both.

Current Directors may run for the office again, but they are not automatically placed on the ballot. The nomination / election procedure is the same as for other candidates.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

1. Complete a Nomination Form. Download the Director Nomination form and provide all the requested information.

2. Obtain endorsement signature(s). You may obtain either the signature of an officer of your state association OR the signatures of five (5) current, paid NSSA members from your state / province / territory / branch.

  • If obtaining the signature of an officer, complete that area on the nomination form.
  • If obtaining signatures of five members, use the separate NSSA Director Candidate Endorsements page. You may have all five to sign that form and submit all signatures at once, or you may submit individual forms for each signatory. To do the latter, simply download the form, email it to your endorsers, and request that they sign and email the form to us. Make sure the candidate’s name and state, province, territory, or military branch is filled in at the top.

3. Email nomination form and endorsements to NSSAElection@nssa-nsca.com.

4. NEW – Complete a brief bio. Click on this link to provide some information about yourself. While this is not required to be able to run for the position, you are encouraged to do so to allow your potential voters to make an informed decision.

5. Watch for our confirmation. Once your nomination form has been vetted for having met all requirements, you will receive an email advising that it has been received and accepted. If all requirements are not met, you will receive an email explaining what is needed to complete your submission. If you don’t receive an email, please allow three (3) business days after your submission before contacting us at NSSAElection@nssa-nsca.com to check on it. If you are running for a position, please add NSSAElection@nssa-nsca.com to your address book to ensure you receive our email.
