Second Round of Women’s Shooting Grants Offered

February 5, 2026 By Sherry Kerr Leave a Comment

Good news for clubs and others who are planning women’s shooting events: NSSA is offering a second round of Women’s Shooting Grants for 2026. This is a new grant program designed to increase the number of women shooting skeet and to create new opportunities for them. After selecting grant recipients in January from the first round of applicants, a second round was announced to help finance additional programs.

NSSA considers outreach programs targeted toward women shooters to be a timely and worthwhile initiative. Skeet shooting is a great lifetime sport for all ages and genders, and currently women are under-represented. We recognize that meaningful participation and advocacy of women shooters is a critical component to our growth and long-term success as an organization. Successful outreach programs that attract, retain, and develop women skeet shooters will enhance our association membership, benefit member clubs, and foster family, social and competitive skeet opportunities. We recognize and appreciate the opportunity for substantial growth and development in this demographic.

The goals of the NSSA Women’s Shooting Grant Program are threefold: to enhance women’s awareness and enjoyment of our sport; to increase female membership within the NSSA; and increase female participation in NSSA registered competitions. This grant can go toward programs including, but not limited to, women-only instructor courses, shooting clinics, and skeet shooting events. The Executive Committee will consider thoughtful, well-developed applications from any appropriate organization, program, club, or event seeking support. The event(s) must be held at an NSSA member club. Grants will be awarded in amounts up to $1,000 each.

Additional information about applying for a Women’s Shooting Grant can be found on the application form. Deadline to apply for the next round of grants is April 15, 2026.
