Bid to Own Limited-Edition Museum Challenge Coin

September 17, 2026 By Sherry Kerr

This fall marks a special milestone for the National Skeet Shooting Association as we celebrate the Grand Reopening of the Hal duPont NSSA-NSCA Museum and Hall of Fame featuring our new Hall of Fame expansion at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio.

Following an extensive renovation, the Museum and Hall of Fame has been refreshed and expanded to better preserve and showcase the people, accomplishments, artifacts and stories that have shaped the history of our shooting sports.

To commemorate the Grand Reopening, we are producing a very special limited-edition, individually numbered NSSA challenge coin, and we’re giving our members one opportunity to own one.

ONLY 175 WILL EVER BE MADE.

Of those 175 coins, only the first 20, numbered #001 through #020, will be made available for purchase. The remaining coins have a very special purpose: Past Hall of Fame inductees, past NSSA Presidents, and members of the NSSA Executive Committee who attend the Grand Reopening Reception will each receive a commemorative coin with a predetermined number beginning after #020.

These coins are being created specifically to commemorate this historic occasion. They will not be available for purchase after the auction.

In other words, if you are not receiving one as part of the Grand Reopening Reception, the auction of #001 through #020 is your only opportunity to own one.

THE FIRST 20 SILENT AUCTION

Members now have the opportunity to bid on commemorative coins #001 through #020 through our online silent auction. Each coin will have its own individual auction listing, so you can bid specifically on the number you want.

And yes, Coin #001 is up for grabs.

Whether you want the very first coin in the collection, one of the coveted first five, a favorite or lucky number, or simply one of the only 20 that will ever be available for purchase, this auction is the only opportunity to get one.

Auction Opened: Wednesday, September 16 at 9:00 a.m. CT
Auction Closes: Friday, October 2 at 4:00 p.m. CT
Starting Bid: $20 per coin

Each commemorative coin will also be presented in a clear display with a wood base, making it a special piece to display in your home, office, gun room or trophy room.

Please note that the coin images shown with the auction are renderings of the final design.

YOUR BID HELPS PRESERVE OUR HISTORY

This auction isn’t just about owning something rare.

100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Hal duPont NSSA-NSCA Museum & Hall of Fame Fund to help support the continued operation of the museum and the preservation and maintenance of its exhibits and displays. The Museum & Hall of Fame preserves the history of our sports, and the funds raised through this auction will help us continue telling that story for generations to come.

175 commemorative coins.
Only #001 through #020 available for purchase.
One auction. One opportunity.
