Experience the Legacy, Celebrate the Future at Museum Reopening

August 5, 2026 By Sherry Kerr

One of the clay target sports’ most meaningful celebrations will take place during the 2026 World Skeet Championships and National Sporting Clays Championship as the NSSA-NSCA welcomes members, families, sponsors, exhibitors, and guests to the grand reopening of the newly expanded and renovated NSSA-NSCA Hal duPont Museum & Hall of Fame.

To ensure that both NSSA and NSCA members can experience this historic celebration, two Grand Reopening Open House Receptions will be held — one during each association’s premier championship. All are invited to tour the expanded facility, experience the new Hall of Fame wing, and meet members of the NSSA-NSCA Hall of Fame.

A New Chapter for the History of Our Sports

The NSSA-NSCA Hal duPont Museum & Hall of Fame preserves the people, achievements, and traditions that have shaped skeet and sporting clays. Its collections bring that history to life through historic firearms, treasured memorabilia, championship artifacts, and exhibits honoring the legends whose vision and accomplishments helped build our sports.

With its renovation and expansion, the museum begins an exciting new chapter. The addition of the Hall of Fame wing creates an even more fitting setting in which to recognize excellence, share the stories of our sports, and connect today’s competitors with the generations who came before them. For longtime NSSA and NSCA members, the museum offers a chance to revisit cherished memories and reflect on the milestones that have defined skeet and sporting clays. For first-time visitors and guests, it is an opportunity to discover the personalities, equipment, competitions, and defining moments behind the sports we enjoy today.

Two Championships, One Shared Legacy

There could be no more fitting time for these celebrations than the World Skeet Championships and National Sporting Clays Championship, when the NSSA and NSCA communities gather for their premier events. In the midst of world-class competition and fellowship, each reception will offer a special opportunity to honor our shared heritage and celebrate the future of skeet and sporting clays.

The Museum & Hall of Fame will be open daily throughout both the 2026 Mini World / World Skeet Championships and the National Sporting Clays Championship. Members, sponsors, exhibitors and guests are encouraged to stop in during their championship week, with a dedicated Grand Reopening Reception at each event.

Grand Reopening Open House Receptions

World Skeet Championships Wednesday, September 30 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
National Sporting Clays Championship Wednesday, October 21 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Please join us as we commemorate this historic milestone, tour the newly expanded museum, and spend time with members of the NSSA-NSCA Hall of Fame. Whether you are returning to a place filled with memories or walking through its doors for the first time, this prestigious celebration is one you will not want to miss.
