Scammers Offering Fake NSSA-NSCA Lists

July 23, 2025 By Sherry Kerr

We’ve heard from some of our members and member clubs who have received unsolicited emails offering the NSSA-NSCA membership lists for sale.

These offers are scams. No one has our membership lists, and they are NEVER for sale. We protect our members’ contact information and do not share, sell, trade, or otherwise distribute it, even with our sponsors or industry partners.

If you receive one of these scam emails, you are welcome to forward it to us at nssa@nssa-nsca.com or nsca@nssa-nsca.com. Please report the email as spam and don’t click on any links it contains.

Be assured that we do everything possible to keep your contact information safe, and any scammer who says they have our list actually does not. Any lists they may provide to unwitting buyers will not be our member lists.

NSSA-NSCA Partners with NSSF to Launch New Educational Series

June 18, 2025 By Sherry Kerr

NSSA-NSCA has partnered with NSSF, the firearm industry trade association, to release a new educational content series designed to help new and non-traditional shooters confidently get started in shotgun sports. The series, available now on NSSF’s consumer-facing platform, LetsGoShooting.org, includes comprehensive hub pages and short instructional videos focused on the fundamentals of skeet and sporting clays, covering everything from safety and gear to etiquette and technique.

“We’re working to reduce the barriers to entry that many new shooters face, whether that’s uncertainty over the equipment needed, safe firearm handling and range etiquette or simply not knowing where to start,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO. “This initiative is about building confidence and creating a clear, safe and welcoming path into the shooting sports for anyone who’s interested in learning a new skill.”

“NSSF’s leadership in educating the public about the shooting sports brings countless new shooters to the range each year,” said Michael Hampton Jr., NSSA-NSCA Executive Director. “We’re proud to partner with NSSF in creating and distributing informative content on skeet and sporting clays, as well as offering free memberships so new shooters can try our sports and access our member benefits to improve their skills.”

Built for Beginners: Hub Pages and Video Series

The video series and digital “hub pages” provides new shooters with step-by-step beginner resources, including easy-to-follow guides, gear tips, safety education and tools for finding local ranges and clubs. These are designed to help new shooters be informed, safe and excited to get started. The hubs for sporting clays and skeet are:

Discover Sporting Clays – NSCA Beginner’s Guide
Skeet Shooting – NSSA Beginner’s Guide

Bonus: Free Limited Membership Offer

To further support new shooters, eligible first-time participants can receive a Complimentary Limited Membership (CLM) to either NSCA or NSSA. This free membership through 2026 includes access to sanctioned events, community support, and additional resources, providing a strong first step into the sport. Shooters who haven’t previously been an NSSA or NSCA member, or who haven’t been for at least three years, are eligible to sign up for the free membership at bit.ly/Free-NSSA-NSCA-Membership.

This campaign marks the beginning of a broader effort by NSSF and its partners to encourage greater participation across all shooting disciplines, always with a focus on safety, accessibility and inclusion. In addition to being available at LetsGoShooting.org, videos and materials will be distributed by NSSA-NSCA and NSSF through social media, newsletters and other communications channels, so watch for them to start appearing soon.
