Learn About 2024 World Shoot Changes

September 1, 2024 By Sherry Kerr

Preparations are underway for the 2024 World Skeet Championships scheduled for September 27 – October 5. There are a few changes to this year’s events to be aware of, so please review these major changes to ensure you are in the know about this year’s event.

1. The Doubles event on Friday of the Mini starts at 12 p.m., and one rotation of 12-gauge will be shot on Friday before the Doubles shoot-offs.

2. The order of Mini World events will be Doubles, 12, 20, 28 and .410.

3. The Mini World 12-Gauge is the only event requiring scores of 100 to shoot a preliminary shoot-o round in the stadium field. This means the Mini 20-Gauge, as well as 12-Gauge East and West, will all be completely shot off in the evenings.

4. The first event of the World will be the Wayne Mayes Championship, which is returning to a separately shot event, followed by the Doubles Championship.

5. The Wayne Mayes event will be the only event shot off on Monday of the World, leaving the Doubles Championship to be shot off first on Tuesday, followed by the 12-Gauge East.

6. The 200-target 12-Gauge Championship will be shot off first on Wednesday, followed by the 12-Gauge West.

7. The World activities will be on the same days as in the past few years – mainly, the World Party is on Tuesday, and the Hall of Fame Banquet is on Thursday of the World.

8. For anyone still needing to pre-register, pay attention to the rotations as they have changes from previous years.

Grants Available for Hosting Referee Clinic

June 3, 2024 By Sherry Kerr

NSSA is offering assistance to clubs hosting referee camps to help develop certified referees for your club, state, and zone. Interested clubs should submit a grant application with the information requested. Approved grant funds will be sent to the club after NSSA receives proof of camp expenses per the grant application and newly certified referees’ information.

Training curricula are at the discretion of the club and the Referee Instructor. See a sample training day curriculum.

We’d also like to help publicize upcoming referee training courses through our Target Talk newsletter. If your club has one planned, please send information to Jessica Wolfe at jwolfe@nssa-nsca.com.

Download the grant application, or contact Jessica Wolfe for assistance.
