NSSA Endowment Exploration Framework

January 26, 2020 By Sherry Kerr

At the recent winter meeting of NSSA and NSCA governing bodies, a plan was made to explore a potential endowment program to benefit NSSA and NSCA. A workshop will be held to initiate the effort. President Don Kelly and Past President John Haugh prepared a statement on the plan, inviting interested members to participate:

Throughout the history of our association, our members, members’ families, and friends within the shooting community have donated both real property (e.g., guns) and financial contributions.

Currently, we have ad hoc resources and personnel to properly and legally receive and process these donations.

As a result of 3-5 years of observing NSC staff handle this process, coupled with research from professional fundraising and marketing firms, the NSSA has formed an “Exploration Team” to evaluate the necessity to formalize the infrastructure, personnel, and governance and refine the addressable donor population.

Next Steps:

  • As of January 16, 2020, the NSSA has received private donations or pledges of $75,000 to fund the exploratory effort.
  • The Exploration team is a volunteer, vetted team nominated and selected across both of our disciplines (sporting and skeet).
  • A workshop will be held in March-April 2020 at a location to be determined. We will invite subject matter experts from professional fundraising firms, marketing firms, and our selected NSSA-NSCA volunteers.
  • The workshop will provide the NSSA Executive Committee and NSCA Executive Council a report with recommendations for action to develop an endowment program or refrain from this pursuit.
  • Inherent to the report, if determined we proceeed with an endowment program, the exploration team will define a design, implementation and execution phase, narrowly focused on 18-36 months of the program.

Interested Volunteers and Donors:

If you are interested in participating in the workshop or have a recommendation for consideration, please contact John Haugh at 216-533-4203 or Don Kelly at 920-619-3504 no later than February 15, 2020.

    Donald J. Kelly, NSSA President

John C. Haugh, NSSA Past President

Shooting for Rewards Points Now Last Longer

January 10, 2020 By nssaadmin

Shooting for RewardsEffective February 26, 2020, points earned in the Shooting for Rewards program for shooting registered targets won’t expire for four years, doubling the time they can be redeemed. The Shooting for Rewards program allows NSSA-NSCA members to turn their registered targets into logo merchandise, shooting gear, and even shooting fees for events like the World Skeet Championships or National Sporting Clays Championship!

Points are earned just for shooting registered targets — for every target you register, you earn a point. NSSA members will earn DOUBLE points for participating in their state or zone shoot and TRIPLE points for the World Skeet Championships. You can check your points status anytime just by logging on to your NSSA My Home Page or NSCA My Home Page.

Rewards points can be redeemed online anytime, 24/7!

To redeem your points, just log on to your NSSA or NSCA My Home Page, and click the Spend Points link.  That will take you to the Shooting for Rewards catalog.

See the Shooting for Rewards Catalog

Note that you must be logged in to your own account to spend points; if you are logged in under a family member’s number, for example, you will not be able to view your own rewards points.

Please allow 4-7 weeks for orders to ship out, as some items are custom ordered to your specifications.

Shipping is free within the United States. International orders will incur shipping charges. In that event, you will be contacted via the information we have on file for you, or you can call headquarters at 210-688-3371 after you have placed your order.

Find something you want but don’t have enough points? Not a problem. Just keep shooting and saving your points. Now, points do not expire for four years after they are earned. Keep shooting and earning!

Murray joined White Flyer in 1995 and has played a crucial role in White Flyer becoming the #1 manufacturer of clay targets in the world. Murray was inducted into the NSSA Hall of Fame in 1995 for his shooting accomplishments, and on October 3, 2019, he received the prestigious NSSA Hall of Fame “Ray Boller Service Award” for over 50 years of service to the clay target community.
